Kieviet:Their diet consists of a variety of insects, but termites form an important component.

Viognier:½ ha, altitude 280m, Aspect SW, Soil Oakleaf

Cape river frogs:<strong>Afrana fuscigula</strong>
Feed mainly on dragonflies and mosquitoes.

Shiraz:3ha, altitude 285-295m, Aspect N, Soil Glenrose

Cabernet Sauvignon:6ha, altitude 285-300, Aspect N, Oakleaf & Glenrose

Squirrels:Squirrels' diet consists primarily of a wide variety of plant food, including nuts, seeds, conifer cones, fruits, fungi and green vegetation.

Secretary bird:<strong>Sagittarius serpentarius</strong>
In South Africa, the Secretary Bird, while not the official bird, is featured as a symbol on the national coat of arms, representing vigilance and military might, as well as the rise and pride of modern South Africa.

Cranes:Cranes are diurnal birds that vary in their sociality by season.

Ducks:Exploit a variety of food sources such as grasses, aquatic plants, fish, insects, small amphibians, worms, and small molluscs.

Chacma baboon:<strong>Papio ursinus</strong>
Southernmost primates. They have become expert botanists in their daily quest to feed.

Rats and Mice:These rodents are eaten by large birds such as hawks, owls and eagles.

Cape Robin:It eats insects, spiders and other invertebrates, small frogs, lizards and some fruit.

Pheasant:Pheasants typically eat seeds and some insects.

Egyptian Goose:<strong>Alopochen aegyptiacus</strong>
Egyptian geese typically eat seeds, leaves, grasses, and plant stems. Occasionally, they will eat locusts, worms, or other small animals. Egyptian geese were considered sacred by the ancient Egyptians, and appeared in much of their artwork.

Cape Cormorant:A very ancient group, with similar ancestors reaching all the way back to the time of the dinosaurs. It breeds from Namibia south to southern Cape Province.

Cabernet Franc:2ha, altitude 295m, Aspect N, Soil Clovelly

Peafowl:They are terrestrial feeders. Peafowl are omnivorous and eat most plant parts, flower petals, seed heads, insects and other arthropods, reptiles, and amphibians.

Pigeons & Doves:Seeds and fruit form the major component of the diet of pigeons and doves.

Leopards:There are 12 leopards monitored by Cape Nature in our Hottentots Holland Mountain area. Every now and then we lose a springbok to a leopard.

Horse:There are about 14 horses stabled at Wedderwill.

Wildebeest:Wildebeest, however are very strong and can inflict considerable injury to even a lion.

Kingfisher:Occurring throughout the worlds tropics and temperate regions.

Heron:Diet includes a wide variety of aquatic animals, including fish, reptiles, amphibians, crustaceans, molluscs and aquatic insects

Small berg adder:<strong>Bitis atropos</strong>
It’s toxin has a neurological effect rather than a tissue-destroying action.
